Also, for the record, William Shatner is the actual 14th Dalai Lama.

"There's.....Something on the wing. Some...... Thing!."

"When I directed Star Trek V, I got a good performance out of me because I respected me so much."

"Can you…imagine it? A mind…emptied…by that thing."

And Gene Roddenberry makes George Lucas seem like McGonagall.

That Trek/Wars question is easy. Trek was forward-thinking enough to know that computer targeting with phasers could easily take down a swarm of small ships. In Star Wars, their computers suck when they're not inside droids. Except in the prequels, where suddenly the computers are amazing.

Also, Sylar as Spock and Shawn of the Dead as Scotty is much cooler than anything that happened in those prequels.

That's right ... I'm waiting for someone to try and go Chewie on me. Come on out Star Wars fans!

I had a Giant bike (like the one in the second link) until it was stolen in DC. Good bike...somebody's probably still using it in our nation's capital.

I'm thinking about one of these:

http://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1208
http://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1234
http://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1040

Although this cruiser looks kinda sweet: http://offrampbikes.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=1257.

Any commuter bike tips from enthusiasts or otherwise out there?

I'd be really curious to hear about your buying process. Having never been a legitimate cycling person (no road bikes for me), I'd want sort of a hybrid cruiser that could negotiate hills but isn't built for Lance Armstrong. I have no idea how much I would have to spend to get a decent bike of this sort, or even where to start beyond my local bike shop.

That's a sweet benefit for bike commuters, I like it.
