Breaking: Davidson Sends Students to Big Game In Detroit For Free

It’s a bit of a leap to say that this is related to the subject matter of this blog, I know… but screw it: I want us to be the first to break it on the blogosphere.

hands.PNGThe Trustees of Davidson College have just offered to pay the way for any and all students who want to travel to Detroit this weekend to watch their Wildcats perform in their Sweet Sixteen matchup against Wisconsin.  We’re talking transportation by bus, hotel rooms, and game tickets.

This has to be unprecedented in the history of college athletics.  Talk about change.

This is the Davidson Difference.  I have never, ever been prouder to be a graduate of this institution.

Let’s Go ‘Cats.

  • I sure hope papers - or any other academic sillyness - don't keep people from traveling. C'mon folks, that's what those laptops are for! And extensions. And all nighters.
  • I'll totally brag that I knew about this at lunch--but then again, that's what working media relations does, I guess. How CRAZY is that? I keep wishing that I were a student now, but as Megan pointed out, we'd probably have papers due, ha!
