Real-Time Change

Now this is cool.  Worldometers is a site that shows real-time statistics about all sorts of stuff: spending, environment, food consumption, demographics, education, and more.  You can click on the statistic for more background information.  Very basic right now, but I can see this growing and gaining a lot of attention.

It would be cool to see this site team up with that rice exhibit I previously blogged about.  Obviously, Worldometers’ statistics work off of some kind of average rate that they’ve researched and confirmed (i.e.  the average rate of car production is three cars per second).  If someone could engineer an hourglass-type device that “spilled” rice at the correct rate, you’d have an extraordinary display showing “real-time” change.

[Update:  Apologies, forgot to mention that I learned of Worldometers through AppScout.]

[Update: #2:  I had a bad link!  Thanks to Bruce for pointing it out, the link to Worldometers should work now.]
