Satellite Challenge #3

Alright, here we go.  This challenge is in three parts: a full view, followed by two zoomed-in views of the “site” on the left (we’ll call it “Site A”) and the site on the right (“Site B”).  To win, you have to guess both Site A and Site B, the city and country, and you have to give me a little snippet of what important change event happened here.

Do it up.

[Update: Y'all are too smart and too quick!  I woke up this morning to one correct answer via instant message, and then as soon as I walk into the office there is an official "winning" answer in the comments!  Hold on to your butts, because the next time I actually spend an evening at home instead of in the office, I'm going to find an especially difficult challenge for you.  Muahahaha.]

  • Long time listener, first time caller — well, I guess it hasn’t been that long. It’s Tiananmen Square (A) and the Forbidden City (B). I’ll leave Wikipedia to best explain the significance of the protests there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_Square_protests_of_1989

  • Jim! Nice work, you are indeed correct! You didn’t name the city and country, but it’s pretty obvious that you know that it is Beijing, China.

To be fair, someone sent me the correct answer early this morning via IM… but you don’t officially “win” until you speak up, anonymously or otherwise, in the comments!

Either way, congrats to both of you for nailing it. I’m going to have to make these a lot harder, because y’all are guessing them much too quickly for me to keep up!
