Welcome to Tropophilia

Welcome to Tropophilia. As evidenced above, we’re all about change here. While we hope that you come to understand some of the changes that are happening around our world, we also hope that we cause some small amount of change in YOU. Whether we expose you to a new idea, or change your mind about an old one, we hope your perspective on life is changed - however so minutely - after having visited Tropophilia. If you’re not a tropophiliac before you arrive, we hope you’ll be one when you leave.

We thought we might give you a quick tour of the site. We’ve tried to keep it simple, and you can probably mostly figure it out by yourselves. But just to run over the basics:

  • “About” section - Accessed by clicking just below the logo up there, this section tells you a little bit more about our goals for the blog. It also introduces you to us: your trustworthy, tireless tropophiliacs.
  • Main column - Right here, you’ll find the latest posts. ‘Nuff said. Because some of our musings can get a little lengthy from time to time, you may have to click the “Continue reading…” link at the bottom to access the rest of a post.

So were you paying attention? Let’s see.

Great, you made it! Don’t worry about the others, if they didn’t make it this far, they’re unworthy.

Moving on. Let’s check out the right sidebar, where we’ve got some nice little features waiting for you:

  • Subscribe - You can subscribe to Tropophilia by email or by using your favorite feed reader (you’ll get to choose which one after clicking the link). Bonus for subscribers: a daily posting of the links that we’re reading (see below).
  • Search - Feel free to search our past posts if you’re looking for something pretty specific.
  • Recent entries - Yeah!
  • Topics - We’ve selected some of the broader tags here so you can drill down into our posts by category.
  • Authors - That’s us! If you want to read all the posts by a certain blogger, get ‘er done right here.
  • What we’re reading - One of my favorite features. We’ve set up a del.icio.us account where we link to the articles and posts that we find interesting, but might not have time to blog about.
  • Recent comments:  Follow the conversations happening about the posts… and then join in!
  • Archive - Enter at your own risk into the annals of Tropophilia.

If you have a suggestion for ways we can improve the site, let us know. And now, in the words of the Illusionators:

“Prepare your mind… for a mind explosion!”
